When Britain handed over control of HK back to China, there was no wind. It threatened to ruin a picture-perfect flag-raising ceremony by the harbor which was televised worldwide. So they dragged out a huge fan and the flag fluttered prettily in the wind, QED. Trust the Chinese to think of everything. ^_^

ReplyDeleteNoted what they did in Beijing recently, they had flagpoles with compressed air blowing at the flags continuously...
