The last time someone made a gash in my rear door I had to fork out RM120 to knock it back into shape and respray. That was half a year ago. I didn't even know who did it.
This morning, a motorcyclist knocked off a lady's (also Myvi) side-mirror and whacked 2 dents into my rear fender and removed my front mud-flap. He must have been weaving merrily through the traffic jam thinking nothing could stop him. I heard a crunch and a crash. I got out to inspect the damage. While he was wondering what happened to him (he look so hopelessly lost and his bike was in a mess), the lady was trying to get him back to earth so she could negotiate a settlement.
There was another motocyclist standing and staring wide-eyed at us. He must have been caught in between. I looked at him and looked again at the guy with the damaged bike and I decided I'm not going to waste my time. I'll write this off as one of those days. That's the price you have to pay for driving in this place...
And I think I'll leave those dents there just to keep others away.
mmm... how is it now?
ReplyDeletedid he get away with anything?
ReplyDeleteAre you alright?
ReplyDeleteMy car's got a few dents too and there are small. I don't bother to repair them. However, there was one deep dent from the passenger's door which a colleague backed into, so that was repaired and my colleague paid for that.
ouch!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I just left the scene. Trying to negotiate with him looked hopeless. Anyway, I estimate cost of repair maybe rm100 ~ rm150. but I'm not going to do anything about it. It doesn't look that bad. No deep scratches, no paint peeled.
ReplyDeleteI'm ok. thanks. nobody in the car got hurt.
ReplyDeleteyeah... ouch (my pocket)
ReplyDeleteIt could've been worse. When I see bikes coming, I just move out of the way. As you said, its hopeless to talk to them if anything happens.
ReplyDelete7.30am traffic spilled out from 2 expressways and few other kampong roads, motorbikes come every which way. All we could do to remain safe is keep a straight course. If we need to change lanes it's best to give about half a mile's signal in advance. Yet we see these guys end up kissing the tarmac so often we get immune to it... They don't call it the 'rush hour' for no reason. Yes, it could have been worse. And I got two cute dimples on my bum!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't pay to be a nice guy. Each time the rogue gets away with it he becomes more bold. At this juncture I am also at a loss. I can't just give him a karate chop on his neck or a konfu knee on his groin or an iron palm on his rib cage. Can I ?
ReplyDeleteI don't think I was being a nice guy. It just looked like I didn't stand a chance to squeeze any money out of him after the lady behind me finished with him. She appeared very determined to do just that.
ReplyDeleteKarate chop? No way. I don't think that will solve problems. It'll create more problems instead.
