Here's something for Malaysians to jump up and shout about:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6528087.stmJeremy Clarkson overdid it with his melodramatic actions and character slamming about Malaysian manufacturers. His tirades actually show up British frustration about losing their market share in the automotive industry to Asians. Kelissa, even if it happens to be made here, is designed by Japanese and would have beaten the Mini to death if the little Honda didn't do it long ago.
What the Malaysian govt and Perodua should do; take the case to UK courts and sue his pants off instead of grumbling at him from behind closed doors. That's where we should grow up. Not fighting our own citizens on religious, education or economic issues, or attacking bloggers while the rest of the world move on.
he is one of the Top Gear host... enjoy the show a lot. coz they are very funny.. i collected all 9 season of their new show haha
ReplyDeleteFame and fortune can make some people careless about others' feelings... the higher they go the harder they fall (if someone trip them up).
ReplyDeleteI had to add one more peeve while I'm at it...
ReplyDeleteMy perspective is that he's candid with a hearthy does of exaggeration thrown in. He doesn't care about the loss of advertising dollars from slamming a manufacturer; unlike most automotive journalists. If you've read enough car reviews for a while, you'll notice how boring they are and how the reviewers always carefully avoid the bad points about the car. Because, right after that page, you see the same car as an ad. No reviewer would want to lose their exclusive first drive or preview of the next model that this manufacturer they might have offended. Clarkson doesn't care. He's idiotic at some times, but damn is he entertaining. And yeah, I have 4 seasons worth of Top Gear on DVDs :)
ReplyDeleteOMG. looks like the sh*t hits some fans... LOL.
ReplyDeleteand apparently the minister and I weren't the only ones making potshots at this Jeremy.
ReplyDeletehe could careless about our reasonably priced car because he is into fast sport exotic cars... he hates asian cars except for japanese cars.
ReplyDeleteOK...my sincere apologies to YB minister Abdul Raman Suliman. I agree with you. Clarkson doesn't care two hoots about who gets hurt. His priority is ratings; HIS ratings....and suing him would serve him even better. All that publicity...aaargh!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo words - Entertainment Value
ReplyDeletesurprisingly it took that much effort....and so many sticks of dynamite!!! It's definitely a good car!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand what he is trying to prove. Slamming the car with a hammer? Looks like child's play to me. If he would have put the same test on any car in the same category (for god's sake it's only a 3 cylinder engine), I believe it would have yield the same results. The car itself barely weighs a ton, how is it going to hold a ton of weight hanging from mid-air?
ReplyDeleteAnd, what's there to expect when you blow up a tiny car with 4 sticks of dynamite? While we're at it, which corporation that's out there that is not into making money? Who is he kidding? This is an economical car, aiming to the general public who would like the luxury of having a car, but not paying a big price for one.
..exactly the same thoughts went through my mind while watching that video.
ReplyDeleteAt worst he makes an idiot of himself. For 'entertainment value'? It's more slapstick and brutish than smartness...
