My Funnygirl was learning how to make a cake. Got hold of a recipe and (with a little coaching from mom) proceeded to use whatever ingredients she could find, tossed 'em in and stirred 'em up. Result: It looked funny alright. Like somebody dropped his brain (ulgh!)...... But it tasted like 'mun-chien-koay'. Quite ok, (can be eaten lah). But this morning it was hard, rubbery like a piece off my car tyre!!
Don't laugh lah.....she's learning only mah....(we had a good laugh anyway).
So, it became a "hard brain"...ha ha ha....
ReplyDeleteWho drop his brain colour chocolate?
ReplyDeleteYou mean this is the look of the `done` Ma La Cake? What is Ma La Cake actually? Ma Lai Kou?
ReplyDeleteat least she try... ;) i am sure she wil be better next time..as my mama always say, practice makes perfect..which i never always practice..he he..Next time if she gets a `thumbs up` from her dad, remember to let us eat :p
Is a new discovery... calcified "Brown matter"
ReplyDeleteLooked better when it came out of the steam-wok. After it cooled that's it. I don't know what actually went into it. I understand they're supposed to put in custard powder, but there was none in the house, so they improvised. Aunty said she probably put in too much condensed milk. Well, live and learn............
ReplyDeletei see i see..i think it is just like huat kueh..it will `bOomEd` up after it`s cold.. is `Ma La Cake` taste like Huat Kueh but using brown sugar?
ReplyDeleteGuess we'll never know what the real taste is like. This one just tasted like mun chien kueh to me.....
